Laser
Hair Reduction
Compared to
shaving, waxing and plucking, Laser Hair Removal is a more effective
permanent hair removal solution to unwanted hair. A free, thorough
consultation is booked first to determine if you are a candidate.
Treatments are booked 6-8 weeks apart and a series of approximately 4-10
treatments are required depending on each individual's unique body and the
area being treated. Call to inquire for monthly specials and promo
packages.
Please note that when you are looking around for a laser hair reduction
solution be careful and do your homework! The real success of your
treatment depends on your unique body (skin type and hair type etc), the
quality and type of the equipment and the talent of your treatment
provider.

Some Basic
Information:
More detailed
information will be provided during your consultation; but here is some
general information for your reference.
- Lasers or light therapies are
attracted to coloured pigment so the greater the contrast between the
skin tone and hair follicles, the better the results.
- Multiple treatments are
needed as hair grows in cycles and can only be destroyed in the growth
stage.
- It is recommended that you do
not tan for 4-6 weeks prior to your treatment. All self-tanning
creams/sprays need to fade completely.
- No waxing, tweezing,
bleaching, threading, or depilatory agents for 4 weeks prior to
treatment as we need to make sure that there is hair present in the
area.
- Lotions, creams, makeup and
deodorant must be removed before treatment in the applicable area.
- The area must be freshly
shaven to prevent the hair in the area on the surface of the skin from
being burnt.
- After your treatment your
skin will be photo-sensitive. We recommend no sun exposure for 3-4 weeks
post treatment, after which SPF 30 applied 20 mins prior to sun
exposure.
- Mild redness and swelling can
occur which can last from 2 hours – 2-3 days. After your treatment
we may apply ice for 15-20 mins. It is best if you do not pick or
scratch the area so you do not disturb the hair follicle in the
treatment area.
- The treated area can be
washed (not scrubbed) and pat dry for 3 days following treatment. You
can exfoliate gently after the first week.
- In approximately, 5-20 days
after your treatment you may notice that the hair follicles shed or fall
out.
- You can use aloe vera gel for
up to a week post treatment on area treated or a burn cream to draw the
heat out and heal the area.

Electrolysis
Electrolysis
removes unwanted hair using either High Frequency or Galvanic current. The client holds a probe which allows the
flow of the current to go from the machine into the hair follicle. The esthetician inserts a tiny needle (the
diameter of the hair follicle) into the follicle. This will then send the current through the
follicle and will kill the blood supply to the hair, which will destroy the
hair follicle.
Electrolysis works on any
skin or hair type. This treatment is
perfect for clients who are not eligible for laser hair removal and
especially for those stubborn gray, white or blond hairs!
